Anthony Armstrong

armstrong, anthony webAnthony Armstrong is a Buffalo repatriate and program officer for the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), a national community development intermediary where he provides technical assistance, planning, and support to community development corporations and other LISC clients on issues related to housing, economic development, and community revitalization policy and practice with a particular focus on vacant property reclamation.

He currently serves as a steering committee member for the Partnership for Public Good, on Erie County’s Distressed Real Property Task Force, as chair of the board of Urban Roots Community Garden Center Cooperative, and many other boards and associations including Groundwork Buffalo and Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper. Anthony was previously Manager of Public Policy and Local Government Affairs at the Buffalo Niagara Partnership and has an M.S. in Urban Affairs from Hunter College and a B.A. in Media Study from SUNY Buffalo.

Anthony and his wife Kristen live in Buffalo’s Allentown Preservation District and were the first couple to be married in Buffalo’s historic New York Central Terminal.  On New Year’s Day 2009 they welcomed their first child (and Buffalo’s littlest advocate) into their lives.
