Jean A. Lowe was appointed President of the Greater Rochester Housing Partnership in 2001. The Partnership was created to facilitate the development of affordable housing in and around the City of Rochester, New York by ensuring the availability of appropriate sources of financing. Since 1992, the Partnership has lent over $68,000,000, successfully funding 1,160 units of affordable multifamily housing. The Partnership has provided funding for over 900 single- family properties located throughout Monroe County. In addition to making its own resources available through construction and bridge financing, the Partnership has successfully applied for and received $9.8 million in state and federal resources that have been funneled into the local affordable housing market.
Prior to employment at the Partnership, Jean Lowe was Economic Development Coordinator for the Monroe County Department of Economic Development. In this position she worked with local companies to finance business expansion using a variety of public and private resources and with local governments to identify and attract economic development opportunities. Prior to joining Monroe County, she worked for the Urban League of Rochester in Program Planning and Research. Ms. Lowe has a BA in History from Grinnell College and a Masters in Public Administration from SUNY Brockport.
