Michael A. Skrebutenas is a Deputy Secretary for Economic Development and Housing for Governor David A. Paterson. As a Deputy Secretary, he manages and directs the economic development and housing agencies and authorities. Prior to the Governor’s Office, Michael developed affordable housing for a variety of non-profits and a public housing authority. He also served as the Director of White House Operations, the operating and budget center of the White House during the Clinton administration and as Assistant Counsel to the New York City Department of Finance where he worked primarily on economic development initiatives and real estate tax abatement programs.
Michael graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in 1986 and from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1991. Michael also has a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University. Michael has served as adjunct faculty at Columbia University’s Urban Planning Program and at the Bloustein School at Rutgers University.
