Walter Burlack

Walter Burlack has worked for the Three Rivers and Midwest Region of the Student Conservation Association for over seven years.  He has a Masters in Public Management at the Heinz School, Carnegie Mellon University, building on a BS in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh.  Walt brings 15 years of experience in industrial materials and hazardous waste management to SCA to engage young people in hands-on conservation service that mitigates the past practices of the industrial and mining era and celebrates the treasure of our nation’s public lands and cultural resources.  Walt is a board member of the Pennsylvania Resources Council, Construction Junction, and the Western PA Regional Environmental Education Center, and participates as an advisory board member of Venture Outdoors, Bike Pittsburgh, and Young Preservationist Association, where he serves to conserve and preserve the resources of the natural and built environment.
